FALL Opener Event One Week Away
The North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) begins the 2026-27 campaign in one week with the FALL League Opener, scheduled for Sept 11-13, 2026, at the Super Rink in Blaine, Minnesota.
The FALL League continues to grow, expanding from 24 to 28 teams, with 14 teams at each age level, as well as 6 guest teams at 16U and 4 guest teams at 18U.
The FALL League serves as a prime spot for 18U and 16U high school players aiming to catch the eye of North American Hockey League (NAHL) coaches. Before the high school season begins in Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Michigan, players step into a fast-paced, highly competitive league that is designed to complement the high school hockey season in the upper midwest.
“This is an important time of year for these players,” said Dennis Vickers, Director of Player Personnel for the NAHL and Director of the NAPHL. “The FALL League gives them an opportunity to compete against quality players, experience the NAHL environment, and be evaluated before their high school seasons get underway.”
Event Schedule:
The FALL League will feature three key events this season in Blaine, Minnesota.
- FALL Opener - Sep. 11-13, 2026
- FALL Showcase - Sep. 24-27, 2026
- FALL Finals - Oct. 30-Nov 2, 2026
Enhanced Competition and Development
In the NAPHL FALL League, teams are run and branded by NAHL organizations, giving players a true taste of what it’s like at the next level. On the bench and behind the logos are programs like the Amarillo Wranglers, Austin Bruins, Chippewa Steel, Fairbanks Ice Dogs, Janesville Jets, Kenai River Brown Bears, Minnesota Mallards, Minnesota Wilderness, Minot Minotauros, Odessa Jackalopes, Oklahoma Warriors, St. Cloud Norsemen, and Wisconsin Windigo.
In addition, several guest teams will be taking part, including the Minnesota Prospects 16U, Minnesota High Performance Prospects, Austin Ice Bats, and Amarillo Wranglers.
The result? Stronger competition on the ice and a bigger spotlight on players looking to make their mark with NAHL coaches and scouts.
A Proven Path to Advancement
The NAPHL is where the next wave of hockey talent gets noticed. Year after year, the FALL, T1ER, and SHOW leagues turn aspiring players into NAHL and NA3HL prospects, giving them the platform to be drafted, tendered, and seen by top-level scouts.
