Cody Sweeney Signs NAHL Tender Agreement

The NAPHL’s T1ER League is excited to announce the tender agreement signed between the Maryland Black Bears of the NAHL and the Lincoln Stars 18U AAA forward Cody Sweeney. The agreement will carry through the end of the 2026-27 season. 

This season for the Lincoln Stars the Dubuque, Iowa native impressed as he recorded 19 points including 10 goals and nine assists in 20 games ranking him towards the top of the league in almost every statistic.

Those point totals left Sweeney ranked in the top-10 in the league in total points and assists. He also ranked fourth in the league in goals among all players. 

Best offensive performance in the NAT1HL came against the Pittsburgh Stars on Jan. 30. He scored two goals in Lincoln’s 4-1 victory over Pittsburgh. That game was one of four multi-point games that Sweeney recorded this season.

Sweeney is one of three players from the Lincoln Stars 18U AAA team to sign a tender agreement with a NAHL team this season.

A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the T1ER - plus or minus any trades - which became active on November 1st. Tendered players are not eligible for the 2026 NAHL Draft
