Pittsburgh Stars AAA 18U defenseman Hixon signs NAHL Tender

The NAPHL’s T1ER League is excited to announce the tender agreement signed between the Amarillo Wranglers of the NAHL and the Pittsburgh Stars 18U AAA defenseman Lukas Hixon. The agreement will carry through the end of the 2026-27 season. 

During the 2025-26 NAT1HL season, the 6-foot-5 towering defenseman turned heads in his first season in the league. Hixon was a reliable blueliner for 16 games for the Stars. 

The Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania native showed that he could also perform on the offensive side of the puck. The best offensive performance that Hixon had this season came against the San Jose Jr. Sharks on Nov. 2. 

The 2008 birth year scored two goals including a powerplay tally in the Stars’ 4-1 victory. 

So far this season, Hixon has played one game for the Amarillo Wranglers against the Lone Star Brahmas. 

Hixon is the only player from the Pittsburgh Stars 18U AAA team to sign a tender agreement with a NAHL team this season.

A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the T1ER - plus or minus any trades - which became active on November 1st. Tendered players are not eligible for the 2026 NAHL Draft.
