Madison 18U defenseman Motichka signs NAHL Tender

The NAPHL’s T1ER League is excited to announce the tender agreement signed between the Janesville Jets of the NAHL and the Madison Capitals 18U defenseman Nathan Motichka. The agreement will carry through the end of the 2026-27 season. 

In his final season of youth hockey, Motichka played eight games with the Capitals before signing with the Janesville Jets. During those eight games, the Kansas native played a crucial role on the blueline as the Capitals averaged under three goals against per game. 

Starting in 2023 the 6-foot-2 defenseman has played three seasons with Madison, one with the 16U team and two with the 18U team.

So far with Janesville, the 2007 birth year has laced them up for 21 games on the backend, with his best performance coming against the Kenai River Brown Bears. Motichka recorded two helpers in Janesville’s 5-1 victory in Kenai River. 

Motichka is one of three players from the Madison Capitals 18U team to sign a tender agreement with a NAHL team this season.

A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the T1ER - plus or minus any trades - which became active on November 1st. Tendered players are not eligible for the 2026 NAHL Draft.
