Chasing the Dixon Cup: Playoffs Begin Friday

The T1ER Dixon Cup Playoffs return to Troy this weekend, bringing together the league’s top teams for the most important stage of the season. It’s championship time, where months of work come down to one weekend and one goal: lifting the Dixon Cup.

This year’s Dixon Cup Playoffs bring together teams from the 18U through 12U levels across Championship and Open divisions. With everything on the line, each game carries weight, and every shift, bounce, and battle can be the difference between a season ending and a championship run continuing.

The field is packed with familiar names and returning champions. CarShield enters the weekend defending Dixon Cup titles at both the 18U and 16U Championship levels, with the 18U group currently ranked ninth nationally and chasing another USA Hockey National Tournament berth. Standing in their way are proven T1ER contenders like Biggby Coffee, Indiana Elite, Philadelphia Hockey Club, and the Lincoln Stars, programs that know what it takes to win in big moments.

At the 16U level, Omaha Mastery, Madison Capitals, Pittsburgh Stars, and Biggby Coffee headline a deep Championship field, while the Lincoln Stars return to defend their Open Division title. Philadelphia Hockey Club looks to repeat as 15U Dixon Cup champions, Omaha Mastery aims to do the same at 14U, and CarShield once again takes the ice as the defending 13U champions.

The Dixon Cup Playoffs are about more than trophies. They represent what the T1ER League is built on, elite competition, development, and opportunity. As one of USA Hockey’s top Tier I National Bound leagues, T1ER has produced more current NAHL players than any other Tier I league. With the event hosted in Troy, the weekend also serves as a major evaluation opportunity, with NAHL and NCAA scouts in the building throughout the playoffs.

More than 30 T1ER players have already signed NAHL tender agreements this season, a clear sign of the league’s impact and the level of talent on display.
