Northstar 18U defenseman Napier makes NCAA D1 commitment

Jacob Napier leads all NAPHL 18U defensemen in scoring so far during the 2020-21 season.
The Northstar Christian Academy Knights of the North American Prospects Hockey League are pleased to announce that 18U defenseman Jacob Napier has committed to play NCAA Division 1 hockey for Western Michigan University in the NCHC.
Napier, 17, is in his second season playing for the Knights program in the NAPHL. The 6’2/190 lbs. native of Lancaster, New York, currently leads all NAPHL 18U defensemen in scoring this season with 14 points (5 goals, 9 assists) in 11 NAPHL games played to date. He was named the NAPHL’s 18U Defensive Peak Performer for the month of September.
Overall in 22 games played during the 2020-21 season, Napier has recorded 31 points.
During the 2019-20 season, he played for the Knights 18U team as a 16-year-old, recording nine points in 12 NAPHL games. He also played in the 2019-20 NAPHL 16U All-Star Game, where he had a goal and an assist.
Prior to playing for Northstar in the NAPHL, Napier played for the Buffalo Jr. Sabres at the 15U and 14U levels.
