Colorado Springs 18U defenseman Gutschick gets call to NAHL
November 8, 2019

The Colorado Springs Tigers of the NAPHL are pleased to announce that 18U defenseman Taber Gutschick has been called up to the Topeka Pilots of the North American Hockey League (NAHL).
Gutschick, 17, is in his forth season in NAPHL with the Tigers. The 5’10/160 lbs. native of Colorado Springs, Colorado, has posted a goal and three assists in eight NAPHL games this season.
Gutschick joined the Pilots for Thursdays practice just prior to the weekend set. This is the first call-up for Gutschick and the second for the Colorado Springs Tigers 18U team this season.
Topeka takes on the New Mexico Ice Wolves this weekend Friday and Saturday in Albuquerque, NM.
The NAPHL has enjoyed a record-breaking amount of advancement, which is highlighted by a large amount of advancement of players to the North American Hockey League (NAHL). No other USA Hockey Midget Tier I league has had more players play in the NAHL over the course of the last three seasons than the NAPHL.
This past season, over 110+ NAPHL alumni played in the NAHL and over 225 NAPHL alumni played in the NCAA. To begin the 2019-20 season, over 80+ NAPHL alumni were on NAHL rosters. During the past three years, 160+ NAPHL players have signed an NAHL tender or been drafted into the NAHL, which is a testament to the success of the NAPHL to NAHL Ladder of Development model.
