NAPHL Showcase, Prep, and 15U Championships begin Friday in Michigan

The 10th anniversary season of NAPHL hockey continues this weekend with the fifth event of the 2018-19 season in suburban Detroit, Michigan.
The event begins on Friday, January 18th as the High Performance and Elite Divisions get back into their final regular season event, while Championships are on the line in the Showcase, Prep and 15U Divisions.
All games will be broadcast live through HockeyTV, the official broadcast provider of the NAPHL.

“NAHL Central Scouting will again be out in full force at this weekend's event, so that should provide additional exposure for all of the NAPHL players looking to make an impression, and with Championships on the line, we are eager to see how everyone performs under pressure,” said NAPHL Director Tony Zasowski. "Congratulations are in order to Rocky Mountain and Sioux Falls who tied for 1st in the regular season in the 15U Division with the Roughriders earning the first seed in the Dixon Cup Playoffs. North Star Christian Academy won the regular season of the Prep Division going a perfect 8-0. The Highland Park Falcons 18U and Chicago Bruins 16U teams went 8-0 to earn the top seed in the Playoffs in their respective Showcase Division Playoffs."
The NAPHL has already seen over 20 players tendered in the past two months of the tender signing period, which began on November 1st.
The NAPHL has established itself as one of the premier grounds for development and exposure, and is a great stepping-stone for development and training for young hockey players looking to gain experience and knowledge to work their way up to the National level. The success of teams on the National stage, as well as, the success of NAPHL players at the next levels of hockey, is further proof that the NAPHL is redefining exposure and has elevated itself as the leader in development and opportunity.
The NAPHL has enjoyed a record-breaking amount of advancement in recent seasons, which is highlighted by a large amount of advancement of players to the North American Hockey League (NAHL). No other USA Hockey Midget Tier I league has had more players play in the NAHL over the course of the last two seasons than the NAPHL. 48 players from the NAPHL were tendered to play in the NAHL for the upcoming 2018-19 season. The NAPHL saw over 90 alumni play in the NAHL during the 2017-18 season. In addition, four NAPHL alumni were selected in the 2018 NHL Draft and a total of 27 NAPHL alumni have been selected in the last six NHL Drafts.
