November 22, 2016

The Meijer AAA hockey club, proud members of the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) are please to announce that 18U forward Tyrone Bronte has signed an NAHL tender agreement with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights, who play in the NAHL’s East Division.
Bronte, 17, who was just named the NAPHL18U Offense Apex Learning Peak Performer from the latest event in Colorado, continued his great season by putting up some more great numbers at the third NAPHL event of the season.
The 5’10/160 lbs. native of Heathmont, Australia, had eight points during the four games in Colorado. Bronte recorded a point in three of the four games, which included a five-point effort in a win against Shattuck St. Mary’s and a two-point game in a loss to Rocky Mountain.
For the season, Bronte leads the NAPHL 18U Division in scoring with 25 points in 13 games played.
Bronte played last season in the NAPHL for the Meijer AAA 18U team and head coach Brian Sherry. In 19 games played during the 2015-16 season, he recorded seven points. “We are excited for Tyrone, who has really showed us what he can do this season,” said Sherry.
He is the third Meijer AAA 18U player this season to sign an NAHL tender.
A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NAPHL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft, which will be held in June of 2017.
