Omaha 16U team headed to Tier I Nationals

Omaha U16AAA won their 2nd consecutive Central District Tier 1 Championship. Omaha AAA U16 defeated Team Wisconsin, the St Louis Blues and the Chicago Fury in 3 straight games in the Central District Finals held in St Louis, Missouri, March 13-15 , 2015.

 

Game 1 - Omaha AAA U16 - 3 , Team Wisconsin - 0

Omaha got 3 goals from Ethen Frank (Omaha , NE) and Maximillian Haselbacher (Vienna , Austria) earned the win in the net for the Omaha AAA U16 Team making 32 saves.

 

Game 2 - Omaha AAA U16 - 3 , St Louis Blues - 2 : Shootout

Ethen Frank (Omaha , NE) again led the way with 2 goals in regulation. Drew Pflug and Austen Long both scored in the shootout. Maximillian Haselbacher earned the win in net for Omaha making 21 saves.

 

Game 3 - Omaha AAA U16 - 3 , Chicago Fury - 0

Ethen Frank (Omaha , NE) and Bryan Yoon (Denver , Colorado) each had a goal and an assist. Jasper Weatherby (Medford , Oregon) had the other Omaha goal in 3rd period and Maximillian Haselbacher (Vienna , Austria)  picked up his 3rd win of the weekend making 16 saves.

 

Omaha now advances to the USA Hockey National Tournament being held in Buffalo, New York March 26-30, 2015.  Omaha AAA will face the Syracuse Stars , Team Comcast and the Chicago Mission in round-robin play.
