Watch Now: NAPHL Video, The Pathway to Success

The North American Prospects Hockey League is pleased to present the first league video of its kind, ‘Pathway to Success.’
Pathway to Success provides a look inside the NAPHL and why in just four short years, it has established itself as a legitimate training ground for development and exposure and has become one of the premier leagues of its kind in the United States.
The video features game footage from the 2013 NAPHL Top Prospects Tournament, which was held back in May in cooperation with the NAHL Robertson Cup Championship Tournament in Frisco, Texas. It also features footage shot during the NAPHL Championship Series, which was held in cooperation with the NAHL Top Prospects Tournament back in February in Troy, Michigan.
It is that constant association with the NAHL that is the foundation of the league and also highlights the first portion of the video, which speaks to the mutually beneficial partnership between the NAPHL and the NAHL.
“The partnership between the NAPHL and the NAHL is like no other partnership out there,” said NAHL Commissioner Mark Frankenfeld. “The NAPHL operates with a guaranteed scouting exposure at all events and in addition, there is a separate NAHL scouting staff that evaluates the top players on each team. All of this provides an opportunity for the players that are unique to the league’s structure and relationship with the NAHL.”
The video then discusses the vertical exposure model the NAPHL benefits from. This includes taking part in the highest-profile events that the NAHL has to offer where scouting exposure is at its highest. These events are specifically designed to maximize the exposure of all the participants at all age levels thanks to the hundreds of NCAA and NHL scouts that are in attendance at the biggest events.
Coaches and general managers then provide testimonials as to why the NAPHL is a league they look to for players. They explain that one of the several reasons they look to the league for players is because the NAPHL is considered one of the best leagues in the country and because they get to watch the players multiple times throughout the regular season, which gives them a better perspective and overall idea of what type of talent a certain player may have and how he improves and develops throughout the course of a season.
The video wraps up with a look at just a few of the recent NAPHL graduates, who then took the next step to play and develop in the NAHL, which ultimately culminated in an NCAA Division I opportunity. It also highlights the former NAPHL players that were drafted by NHL clubs in the recent 2013 NHL Entry Draft. Not only have players in the NAPHL received recognition from NHL Central Scouting, but dozens per season are receiving scholarships to NCAA Division I schools more on top of that are being drafted and tendered by top junior programs across North America.
