16U and 14U SHOW team complete final day in Blaine

The NAPHL’s SHOW League continued its second event of the season at the NSC Super Rink in Blaine, MN, on Sunday, December 17th as the 14U and 16U teams took to the ice for a final day, and the 18U clubs all played their third games. The event runs from December 15-18 and is being played in cooperation with a T1ER 18U and 16U regional event, as well as, the 2023 NA3HL Showcase.

The SHOW is a collection of Tier I and Tier II organizations from all over North America that compete at the Tier I level at NAPHL events. It also includes teams from some of the strongest Tier II leagues in the United States. This event includes all 18U, 16U and 14U teams in the first match-ups of the season.

Since the inception of the SHOW League there have been an increased number of opportunities for players at the NAHL, NA3HL, and T1ER Leagues. The internal exposure elements inclusive of an exclusive tendering system and the strategically schedule events have proven to be very beneficial to the players competing in the SHOW League.

14U SHOW: The Orland Park Vikings secured a 5-1 victory over Park City Ice Miners, with goals from Kale deFreese, Nick Pigatto, and Logan Sterling leading them to success. In a closely contested match, the Vegas Jr. Golden Knights emerged victorious in a shootout against the North Carolina Golden Bears, with Thomas Grimes scoring Vegas’ regulation goal.

16U SHOW: In a hard-fought matchup, the Chicago Jets secured a 2-1 victory against California Wave with goals from Jake Sulek and Marty Nitsche in the third period. Ontario Jr. Reign emerged victorious in overtime against Utah Jr. Mustangs Red, clinching a 4-3 win as Markus Mineck scored the game-winner in the extra period. Portland Winterhawks dominated the ice, defeating Rose City Pats 16U with a final score of 5-2, led by multiple scorers, including Jinri Lee and Ellis Austin. Despite a strong effort from SISU Thunderbirds, Park City Ice Miners secured a 3-2 victory with goals from Afton Olson, Mitchell Berry, and Afton Olson again. In an overtime thriller, Vegas Jr. Golden Knights emerged triumphant with a 3-2 win over Cherry Creek Hockey Academy, thanks to Elliott Murch's overtime goal. Tampa Bay Crunch 08 secured a thrilling 2-1 overtime victory against Texas Brahmas, sealed by Robbie Schlifke's goal in the extra period. Utah Jr. Mustangs Blue showcased their offensive prowess, claiming a 6-2 victory over New Jersey Jr. Titans, with multiple players contributing to the scoreline. Tampa Bay Crunch 07’s secured a 5-2 victory against Chicago Hawks, highlighted by goals from Conner McDuffie and Joseph Pocrnic. St. Louis Sting secured a 4-2 win over Midwest Blackbirds, with goals from Abram Turner, Jack Nimmo, Ashton Whittley, and Andrew Tuffli. North Carolina Golden Bears clinched a 3-0 victory against Tahoe Prep Academy, with goals from Elijah Cira, Connor Jones, and Cameron McClain. Orland Park Vikings emerged victorious with a 3-1 win against Pilot Mound Hockey Academy, featuring goals from Seaman Nick, Gawel Mitchell, and Struzik Nathan.

18U SHOW: New Jersey Jr Titans secured a convincing 5-2 victory over Sea Hawks HC. Tarik Mrkva, Josh Bain, Anthony Ostrowski, and others contributed to the offensive effort. Pilot Mound Academy faced a tough challenge as the Chicago Jets dominated with an 8-2 win. Logan Stumpf showcased a strong performance with a hat-trick. Dallas Penguins secured a 3-1 victory over Tri-Valley Hockey Association. Brady Armstrong and Maddox Hamilton were among the goal-scorers. Philadelphia Little Flyers displayed dominance with a 6-2 win over Maple Grove Jr. Gold. Colin Helkowski and Richie Padulka each contributed with multiple goals. San Diego Jets HS secured a 3-0 victory over Texas Jr. Brahmas. James "Taiki" Schneider scored all three goals for San Diego Jets HS. Ontario Jr. Reign edged out New Mexico Ice Wolves with a 3-2 victory in a shootout. Vitaliy Zagorodniy and Dylan Woodward were among the goal-scorers in regulation for Ontario. Denver East emerged victorious in a shootout against Houston Aeros, with a final score of 5-4. Elijah Huck Tomberg and Zeke Giles contributed to the win with regulation goals. Golden State Elite secured a 5-2 victory over Clearwater Ice Storm. Roman Faz and Darrell Li were among the goal-scorers for Golden State. The Texas Tigers dominated the Chicago Flames with a 6-1 victory. Henry Pinkerman contributed with multiple goals for the Tigers. Tahoe Prep secured a 4-2 victory over Utah Jr. Mustangs Red. Garrett Baxter and Trevor Stones were among the goal-scorers for Tahoe Prep. St. Louis Sting emerged victorious with a 5-2 win over Utah Jr. Mustangs Blue. Konnor Goclan and Trevor Bryson both contributed to the offensive effort with scores. Monument Hockey Academy 18U secured a dominant 5-0 victory over SISU Thunderbirds. Tucker Sarkisian had a pair of goals in the shutout win. The Chicago Hawks displayed offensive prowess with a 9-1 victory over the New Hampshire Monarchs. Josh Taylor, Liam Lecauchois, and Kyle Alpe were among the goal-scorers. Pacific Ridge Hockey Club secured a 2-1 victory over the Rose City Pats in a shootout. Torrey Man and Matthew Anderson found goals in regulation for their respective teams.
