SHOW Event full of action on Day 2 in New Hampshire

The NAPHL’s SHOW League continued its 2023-24 season on Saturday in New Hampshire as all the SHOW 18, 16, and 14U teams highlighted the action on Day 2 with another full slate of games.

The SHOW is a collection of Tier I and Tier II organizations from all over North America that compete at the Tier I level at NAPHL events. It also includes teams from some of the strongest Tier II leagues in the United States. This event includes all 18U, 16U and 14U teams in the first match-ups of the season.

Since the inception of the SHOW League there have been an increased number of opportunities for players at the NAHL, NA3HL, and T1ER Leagues. The internal exposure elements inclusive of an exclusive tendering system and the strategically schedule events have proven to be very beneficial to the players competing in the SHOW League.

Day 2 Recaps

18U SHOW: The New Jersey Titans added two goals in the third period to take a 6-4 win over Cherry Creek High School. Luke Gensinger had a three point game and goalie Shane Phillips stopped 23 shots. The Dallas Penguins scored a goal in the first that would outlast the Philadelphia Little Flyers by a score of 1-0. Kristofer Pope scored the lone goal and goaltender Evan Witt posted a 28 shot shutout win. The Tri-Valley Hockey Association Bulls edged the SISU Thunderbirds by a final of 4-3. Joseph Jupina added two assists in the win while netminder Braden Bedley protected the net. The Utah Jr. Mustangs (Blue) took down Tahoe Prep by a 6-2 score. Keegan Clark scored two goals and goalie Yair Perez got the win in net. The New Hampshire Monarchs won 5-3 against the Orland Park Vikings. Noah Levesque scored twice and goalie Brandon Smith was great in net. The Ontario Jr Reign broke a 1-1 tied game after the first to beat the Utha Jr. Mustangs (Red), 7-1. Kaden Curry and Brady Andrews both recorded a 3 point game. Netminder Ethan Sellwood was near perfect stopping 23 shots on net. The New Mexico Ice Wolves blanked the Rose City Pats by a score of 3-0. Alvaro (Enzo) Ramazzini added two goals and John Sanchez posted the shutout. The St. Louis Sting stung the Houston Aeros after scoring all of their goals in the third period for a 3-1 final. Trevor Bryson had a two point game and goalie Cayden Merkel got the win. The Pekin Dragons topped the New Hampshire Mountain Kings, 5-3. Dietrich Miller, Noah Dalton and RJ Alvarado all totalled 2 points. Pilot Mound Academy scored a third period goal to get a 2-1 win against Sea Hawks HC.Goaltender Quinn Burfoot was fantastic in net stopping 19 shotts. Ontario Jr Reign defeated the SISU Thunderbirds by a score of 5-1. Patrik Cech added two goals and an assist while goaltender Ethan Sellwood made 20 stops. The Tri-Valley Hockey Association took down the New Mexico Ice Wolves in a 4-1 contest. Matthew Hague scored twice and goalie Joshua Stevens got the win in net. Tahoe Prep won 5-3 against Monument Hockey Academy. Tevor Stones had a 4 point game and goalie Blake Moore posted the win in net. The Houston Aeros edged the Sea Hawks Hockey Club in a 5-4 final. Logan Graham netted a hat-trick and goalie Damian Clark was great stopping 31 shots. Pilot Mound Academy took an overtime win against the New Jersey Titans, 3-2. The Pekin Dragons netted two goals in the third to seal a 4-3 win over Cherry Creek High School. Forward Owen Gruden had a three point game while netminder Charles Maquet picked up the win in net. The Philadelphia Little Flyers won 5-1 against Pacific Ridge Hockey Club. Darin  O’Dell, Colin Helkowski and Carrado Ditoro all had a 2 point game. The Golden State Elite beat the St. Louis Sting by a final of 4-3. Presley Lashinski had a three point game and goalie Jonathon McGinn stopped 33 shots. The Rose City Pats defeated the Utah Jr. Mustangs (red) 3-1. Taha Saiyed netted two goals plus dished out an assist and goalie Eric Vargas took the win in net. 

16U SHOW: The Rose City Pats shutout the Santa Clara Blackhawks in a 3-0. Rose City netminder Wayne Gray earned the shutout. In an 8-1 final, the Ontario Jr Reign took down the Utah Jr. Mustangs (Red). Benjamin Juraj Sepak posted a hat-trick and goaltender Matthew Day got the shutout win. The Orland Park Vikings won 4-1 over the California Wave. Mitchell Wawel scored twice and goaltender Aidan Millerick won in net. The Portland Winterhawks beat the Park City Ice Miners, 5-3. Goalie Noah Porter picked up the win in net. The North Carolina Golden Bears won in shutout fashion 3-0 against the Tampa Bay Crunch. Michael Sheridan added a goal plus an assist and goaltender Mason Orr earned the shutout win. Tampa Bay Crunch took care of business in a 7-3 victory against Tahoe Prep Academy. Carson Ring had a four point game with one goal plus three helpers and goaltender Tristian Hillard stopped 24 shots. St. Louis Sting buzzed past the Seacoast Prep Academy in a shootout thriller, 2-1. 

14U SHOW: Mason Kring stopped all 26 shots that came his way as the Santa Clarita Flyers shutout the New Hampshire Avalanche Elite, 4-0. Santa Clarita got goals from Bria Schilling, Maddox Emmons, Radek Tervo, and Luca Lira in the win. In the 9:30am game Top Gun T1 topped the Orland Park Vikings, 4-1. Ryan McPhee had two goals and Preston Sullivan and Conor Prunier also scored for Top Gun in the win. Gavin Maher picked up the win making 23 saves. The next contest saw the North Carolina Golden Bears beat the Park City ice Miners, 5-1. Andrew Shuma had two goals and Max Hooper, Morgan Congleton, and Cole Pryzwansky also scored in the win. Daniel Rinaldo made 24 saves in the win. The final game of the day saw the Vegas Jr. Golden Knights erupt for seven goals in a 7-1 win over the Ontario Jr. Reign. Ryan Fitzmeyer and Mattox McCauley had two goals apiece for Vegas and Davis Lenz, Ryan Faivre, and Gavin Perkins also scored in the win.
