Team Maryland 18U forward Kebreau signs NAHL tender

January 28, 2021

Team Maryland AAA hockey, members of the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) are pleased to announce that 18U forward Dimitry Kebreau has signed a North American Hockey League tender agreement with the Maryland Black Bears of the NAHL’s East Division.

Kebreau, 17, has been with the Team Maryland organization for a number of seasons, playing for the 14U, 16U, and now 18U teams. This season with Team Maryland 18U AAA, the 5’9/175 lbs. native of Silver Spring, MD, he has totaled 9 goals and 4 assists for 13 points in 9 games, which includes nine points in five NAPHL games.

“We have been monitoring Dimitry’s progression over the past two years and have really gotten to know him as a hockey player, as well as a person. He fits the mold of what we like to bring into the program and look forward to seeing him continue to develop with the Black Bears. Welcome to MBB Nation, Dimitry,” said Black Bears’ Head Coach and GM Clint Mylymok.

“Dimitry is a dedicated and loyal player for us. I’ve watch him transform from a AA rink rat to a dominant AAA player in just a few years. The TM family can’t wait to see him wearing a Black Bear sweater next year. He is currently our leading goal scorer and I have all the confidence that he can burry the puck at the next level. Congrats Dima,” said Chris Ceransky, Team Maryland Hockey Director.

A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NAPHL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the 2021 NAHL Draft.
