Northeast 18U forwards Nick and Tyler Ramm sign NAHL tenders

The Northeast Generals of the North American Prospects Hockey League are excited to announce that 18U forwards and twin brothers Nick and Tyler Ramm have both signed a North American Hockey League (NAHL) tender agreement with the Northeast Generals NAHL team.

The brothers are the first players in Generals history to go through the entire ladder of development. They played for the first year U16 program in 2019-20, the U18 program in 2020-2021 (while also playing games for the NA3HL Generals) and have now tendered with the NAHL team.

The Westborough, Massachusetts natives have each carved out their own path to the NAHL.

Nick Ramm, a right shot, stands 5’11. Nick is a goal scorer and has scored at every level. With the Northeast Generals U16 team in 2019-2020 Nick had 26 goals, 22 assists for 48 points in just 29 league games. He also added 7 goals in 20 games for the 18’s last year. In the early going in 2020-21 Nick has been off to a hot start with the U18 Northeast Generals with 14 goals, 6 assists for 20 points in 13 league games. Nick also played 1 game with the NA3HL Generals and had quite a debut with 4 goals.

Tyler Ramm, a left shot, stands 6’0. He is a playmaking forward with incredible vision. With the Northeast Generals U16 team in 2019-20 Tyler had 24 goals, 31 assists and 55 points in just 29 league games (NAPHL and ECEL). So far the transition to U18’s has been just as smooth with 9 goals, 11 assists for 20 points in just 13 games.

“When we started the Midget program last year we had hoped that it would start producing players for the NA3HL and NAHL level. We want the Midget program to be a great development place for all players. But I am not sure we thought the teams would pay such immediate dividends. We have defenseman, Adam Smith who has carved out a big role with the NA team after playing for the U18’s last year. And the same goes with Forward John Musella, who has started off his NAHL career this season. We envision Nick and Tyler both continuing to get better and being huge players for us next season at the NA level. It is a real testament to all the players but also to Head Coach Eric Progen who built the midget program from the ground up and has helped both Nick and Tyler round out their games,” said NAHL Head Coach Bryan Erikson.

“Tyler and Nick have both bought into what we are doing so well. They are amazing competitors on and off the ice and are so eager to learn. They have a ton of talent but what really separates them is their willingness to improve on a daily basis. I am very happy for both of them. They both still have a lot of work to do between now and next year and I am excited to help them reach their goals.” Said Eric Progen the U16/U18 Head Coach along with being the NAHL Associate Head Coach.

A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NAPHL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the 2021 NAHL Draft.
