NAPHL announces Tier 1 events for 2020-21 season

April 7, 2020
Heading into its 12th season, the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) is pleased to announce a new enhanced showcase structure and the elimination of gate fees for parents and fans. Teams will compete in a mix of league showcases and regional conference showcases, all in an effort to contain the growing cost of travel and bring more value to the participants.

For the 2020-21 season, NAPHL organizations will be aligned in three regional conferences and teams will compete in a combination of league-wide and regional conference exposure events.  The league-wide showcases will continue to bring everyone under one roof to make it easier for the junior and college scouts to attend and evaluate.  The regional conference exposure events will cut down on team travel and allow for NAHL teams to host the event in their home buildings.

The 2020-21 NAPHL Tier I schedule is as follows:

September 17-20, 2020 - NAHL Showcase at the Super Rink in Blaine, MN

“From the beginning, the NAPHL has been focused on providing players with a large amount of exposure, solid education, and a wonderful experience,” said NAPHL Commissioner Tony Zasowski.  “With the addition of regional conference showcases and the elimination of the gate fee at all events except the NAHL Showcase, we are now focusing on the players expenses.”

NAPHL teams have the exclusive opportunity to compete at NAHL partnered events such as the NAHL and NA3HL Showcase.  The NAHL and NA3HL Showcase are two of the most scouted events of their kind and bring hundreds of scouts under one roof.  Additionally, the NAPHL will host 16U and 18U All-Star Games during the season, a highly-scouted Dixon Cup Championship, and a post-season 18U Top Prospect Tournament in conjunction with the NAHL Robertson Cup Championship Tournament.  The NAHL vertical exposure model is second-to-none and is the reason why the NAPHL has developed into the best place for a player to play, develop, and be seen by scouts on their path to play college hockey.

Every year, the NAPHL increases its advancement numbers to the NAHL, the USHL, and NCAA Hockey.  The NAPHL currently boasts over 75 NCAA Division 1, 160 NCAA Division III, 115 NAHL and 44 USHL alumni.  The advancement mission is spearheaded by the exclusive NAHL Central Scouting Department and is also enhanced by a unique NAHL tender system, eligible only to players that play in the NAPHL Tier 1 Division.
