NAPHL Texas Showcase full of offense on Day 2

The NAPHL Texas Showcase continued with Day 2 on Saturday as all four age groups were in action, as the action was filled with more offense, showcasing the great skill that NAPHL players have to offer.
 
On Sunday, the NAPHL’s 18U, 16U, and 15U Tier 1 High Performance and Elite Divisions will take to the ice in addition to Day 3 for the NAPHL’s 14U Division in both the Tier 1 and Showcase Divisions.
 
All games this weekend will be played at one of three Children's Health StarCenter’s in North Texas located in Frisco, McKinney, and Plano.
 
There will be no admission charge for the event in North Texas. All games will be broadcast live on HockeyTV

Saturday 18U Recaps
Seven tilts highlighted day one of 18U hockey, as close competition reigned throughout the action. 
 
Carshield opened up the day with a 3-2 win over Notre Dame thanks to a late winner, Shattuck St. Mary’s followed up with a comfortable 5-2 win over Ontario, Sioux Falls just edged out Colorado Springs 2-1 despite a late Tigers tally and Arizona held on for a 4-3 win over Portland. 
 
Later, Esmark handled Everett in a 9-4 win thanks to four Ryder Brophy markers, Thunder Bay’s Travis Hensrud logged a hat-trick in a 5-2 win over Florida Alliance and Meijer dealt Notre Dame another tight loss on the day in a 2-0 decision. 
 
Saturday 16U Recaps
Also joining the fray in Texas were the 16U teams, with Sioux Falls and West Coast kicking things off with a pair of shutouts over Carshield and Madison, respectively. 
 
From there, Esmark followed by dealing Gentry a rare loss, 4-3, Meijer knocked off TRC 6-3, Arizona edged Colorado Springs 2-1 in overtime and Florida Alliance cruised past Everett 14-2. 
 
Later, Gentry got back on the horse with a 13-0 win over TRC, Meijer shut out Carshield 3-0, West Coast again shut out Madison, this time 3-0, Florida escaped with a 2-1 win over Arizona thanks to a late game-winner from Aiden Dubinsky, Esmark took another win as they topped Colorado Springs 7-2 and Everett edged Sioux Falls 2-1 after Jack Lambert’s shootout winner. 
 
Saturday 15U Recaps
Action in the 15U division picked up on Saturday with four games. 
 
Carshield breezed past Thunder Bay 6-2 with three point efforts from Connor McCaffrey and Jeremy Emch, Florida Alliance topped Esmark 55-2 with a balanced attack, Meijer edged out Everett thanks to Antonio Valeri’s game-winner, and Arizona needed a late strike from Bruce Hubbard to knock off Colorado Springs 3-2. 
 
Saturday 14U Recaps
It was another busy day in the 14U ranks, with 15 games on the slate. 
 
Shutouts dominated the day, with eight goose-eggs across the board. Chicago Hawks blanked Littleton early on, followed by Chicago Bulldogs taking down Vegas 5-0, Dallas Penguins toppling Highland Park 4-0, Chicago Jets slipping past South Florida 1-0, Chicago Blues pumping seven past Atlanta in a shutout of their own, St. Peters posting a 5-0 win over Nashville, Affton hounding Arizona in a 6-0 decision and Romeoville handing McKinney A a 6-0 defeat to round out the shutout contests. 
 
Elsewhere during the day, Romeoville potted a 4-1 victory over Texas Tigers, Northwest erupted for a 7-1 win over McKinney AA, Chicago Bruins dumped Ontario in a 5-1 win, Dallas Stars Elite 13U came back from 3-0 down to take a 4-3 OT win over Geneva, Dallas Stars Elite 14U handed Arizona a 4-1 loss and Meijer held off West Dundee in a 5-2 victory.
