The Sioux Falls Power Hockey Tier 1 Program of the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) is proud to announce forward Dane Montgomery has been called up to the Waterloo Blackhawks in the United States Hockey League (USHL) for the remainder of the 2018-19 season.
The 5’9/165 lbs. native of Grand Forks, North Dakota, has been with Waterloo in the USHL since December. In eight USHL games, Montgomery, 17, has recorded two points.
Earlier this season back in September, Montgomery committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for the University of North Dakota in the NCHC.
During the 2018-19 in the NAPHL, Montgomery appeared in nine games and recorded 11 points (4 goals, 7 assists).
In addition to playing in the NAPHL and USHL, Montgomery, represented USA at the 5 Nations tournament in Slovakia this past August, being named assistant captain and earning a bronze medal. Montgomery is entering his first season with the Sioux Falls Power Hockey Tier 1 Program.
“Dane Montgomery is a consummate competitor who loves the game of hockey. He is a dynamic forward that plays a hard, responsible 200-foot game. In addition to how hard Dane competes, he has a very good skill set and is a great skater, which makes him a legitimate threat every single shift. The University of North Dakota is getting a young man with outstanding character that also has an elite work ethic. We were proud to have Dane in the Sioux Falls Power Hockey program and wish him luck the rest of the season in the USHL,” said 16U Head Coach, Noelle Needham.
