NAPHL announces Apex Learning Peak Performers for November

18U honors (top) go to Tyrone Bronte (Meijer AAA), Brendan Blair (St. Louis) and Nathan Severtson (Madison); 16U honors (bottom) go to Sam Renlund (Omaha AAA), Aaron Bohlinger (Omaha AAA) and Devin Chapman (Everett).

The North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) announced its Apex Learning Virtual School Peak Performers for the month of November.  The players were selected based upon their performance at the third NAPHL event of the season, which took place in Colorado from November 11-13. 2016.  

 

18U Apex Peak Performer (Offense) – Tyrone Bronte, Meijer AAA

Meijer AAA forward Tyrone Bronte, 17, continued his great season by putting up some more great numbers at the third NAPHL event of the season in Colorado. The 5’10/160 lbs. native of Heathmont, Australia, had eight points during the four games in Colorado. Bronte, who is tendered by the NAHL’s Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights, recorded a point in three of the four games, which included a five-point effort in a win against Shattuck St. Mary’s and a two-point game in a loss to Rocky Mountain. For the season, Bronte leads the NAPHL 18U Division in scoring with 25 points in 13 games played.

18U Apex Peak Performer (Defense) – Brendan Blair, St. Louis Selects

St. Louis defenseman Brendan Blair, 17, helped his team stay in 1st place in the NAPHL’s 18U Division with a 3-1 record in the Colorado event. The native of St. Louis, Missouri, contributed five points at the event, which included points in three of the four games. Blair (6’1/195) had a goal and four assists, which included assisting on all three goals in a 3-1 win over Rocky Mountain. For the 2016-17 season, Blair leads all Selects defensemen in scoring with eight points in 13 games played.

18U Apex Peak Performer (Goaltender) – Nathan Severtson, Madison Capitols

Fresh off their win at the Bauer World Invite the week before, the Madison Capitols and goalie Nathan Severtson picked up three more wins in Colorado, with Severtson, 17, posted a 2-0 record at the event. The native of Lino Lakes, Minnesota, made 19 saves in a 6-0 shutout of high-powered Meijer AAA and then he allowed just one goal and made 19 more saves in a 4-1 win over the Esmark Stars. For the season, Severtson (6’4/170) has a 5-1 record with a 1.49 goals against average and a 92.4% save percentage.

16U Apex Peak Performer (Offense) – Sam Renlund, Omaha AAA

For the second straight month, Omaha AAA forward Sam Redlund, 16, is the 16U Offensive Peak Performer. Omaha stayed perfect on the season and in 1st place in the 16U Division with a 4-0 record in Colorado. The 5’11/190 lbs. native of Verona, WI, put up 10 more points in the four games, which included 3 goals and 7 assists. Renlund recorded a four-point game in a 7-1 win over the Northern Cyclones and had multi-point games in three of the four outings. Renlund leads all NAPHL players in scoring so far this season with 33 points in just 13 games played.

#3 Star: Alex Konovalov, New Jersey Jr. Titans

 

16U Apex Peak Performer (Defense) – Aaron Bohlinger, Omaha AAA

Omaha 16U defenseman Aaron Bohlinger, 16, had a breakout event in Colorado, recording nine points in four games as Omaha posted a perfect 4-0 record at the event. The 5’9/165 lbs. native of Walden, New York, chimed in with 9 points (all assists) in the four wins. That included four assists in a 9-3 win over Madison and two assists each in wins over Pursuit of Excellence and Rocky Mountain. Bohlinger, who has 14 points to date in 13 games played, scored nine of his 14 points to date at the Colorado event.

#3 Star: William Rapone, Esmark Stars

 

16U Apex Peak Performer (Goaltender) – Devin Chapman, Everett Jr. Silvertips

Everett Jr. Silvertips goalie Devin Chapman, 15, led his squad to a perfect 4-0 record in Colorado, playing in three of the four games at the event. The 5’10/150 lbs native of Williams Lake, British Columbia, allowed just three goals in 157 minutes of action, while facing 55 shots. Chapman made 29 saves and stopped both shootout attempts in a 2-1 shootout win over St. Louis. He also made 11 saves in a 6-0 shutout of HC Dallas. In his final game, Champman made 12 saves in a 4-2 win over Madison. To date, Chapman has a 7-3 record with a 2.42 goals against average.

#3 Star: Christian Cicigoi, Thunder Bay Kings

 

The NAPHL is comprised of five regular-season events leading up to its Championship Tournament Series in which the top teams in each division compete for a league championship. The fourth NAPHL event of the 2016-17 season will be the NAPHL Showcase and Future Prospects Tournament, which will take place from December 2-5, 2016 at the Schwan Super Rink in Blaine, MN.
