The NAFP is driven by the NAHL and operated by the NAHL professional staff in order to serve the most valuable asset to hockey…the players. The intent and goal is to provide the aspiring hockey player an opportunity while participating in the NAFP to take part in a one-of-a-kind experience that is designed to maximize exposure at grand-scale events and combines that provide a true look and feel of the genuine ‘NAHL EXPERIENCE.’

The first NAHL Combine of the season will take place at Canlan Ice Sports in Romeoville, Illinois. It will be in cooperation with the NA3HL Silver Cup Championship, in which eight teams from the NA3HL will also be at the venue competing for the top crown in Tier III junior hockey.

The Future Prospects Combine (FPC) is an innovative and unique event designed to provide exposure and education for hockey prospects that strive to play junior hockey in a premier league like the NAHL. At the event, players will be introduced and exposed to junior hockey and in particular, the NAHL, NA3HL, NA3EHL as well as the NAPHL (Tier I Midget Hockey).  The players will be introduced to and provided with a weekend that involves the 'NAHL Experience,' which will consist of competitive hockey, education of the future levels of hockey, academic preparation for NCAA hockey and exposure to professional, college, and junior scouts. This includes seminars that discuss the NAHL junior hockey experience, the ladder of development, as well as, NCAA compliance seminars. Guest speakers will include those from the NAHL and NCAA. The on-ice competition will have each team will play in four games including three round-robin games and one playoff game. Note: The combines are for players too young to play in the NAHL (2000-2003 birth years this season), but who have aspiriations of one day playing in the league.

The NAHL Experience means that all NAFP events (tournaments and combines) are carefully designed to provide exposure, education and an experience for prospects that strive to advance their hockey development at the junior hockey and college level. EXPOSURE means that players compete in front of junior and college scouts, as well as gaining additional exposure through NAHL Central Scouting. EDUCATION ensures the player is provided knowledge about NCAA compliance and eligibility, recruiting processes, the correct / legitimate path to college hockey, as well as in-depth look at the three different tiers of junior hockey. EXPERIENCE equals a top notch, professional, memorable experience for players from all over North America and Europe.
