Omaha 16U forward Kawamura makes NCAA DI commitment

The Omaha AAA Hockey Club, proud members of the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL), are pleased to announce that 16U forwarda Kyle Kawamura has committed to play NCAA Division I Hockey at University of Maine starting in the fall of 2018. Maine is a member of the Hockey East conference.
 
Kawamura,16, is a native of Nashville, Tennessee and is in his first season with the Omaha AAA Hockey Club. He is known as a fast, skilled, explosive forward and has a tremendous scoring touch.
 
So far this year, the winger has amassed 54 goals and 37 assists for 91 points in 69 games overall for the Omaha AAA 16U Team that is ranked as one of the top teams in the country.
 
In NAPHL action this season, Kawamura (5'7/170) has played in 20 games to date and recorded 37 points on 19 goals and 18 assists. He also was selected for and played in the 2015 NAPHL 16U All-Star Game. He has also played in three USHL games with the Lincoln Stars this season.
 
Kawamura was also selected to and played in the 2015-16 NAPHL 16U All-Star Game where he had a goal and assist for the OT Sports team in a 4-2 win back in December.
 
Kawamura is now the second member of this years 16U Omaha Team to receive an NCAA Division I scholarship, joining defenseman Fletcher Fineman (Union).
