Pikes Peak 18U forward Nolette signs NAHL tender
February 22, 2016
The Pikes Peak Miners, proud members of the NAPHL, are pleased to announce that 18U forward JP Nolette has signed an NAHL tender agreement with the Aston Rebels of the NAHL’s East Division.
Nolette, 18, is a four-year Pikes Peak and NAPHL veteran player, who just finished his final season of playing with the Miners in the league.
The native of Colorado Springs, Colorado, appeared in 11 NAPHL regular season games this season, along with four NAPHL playoff games. Nolette (5’8/165) played in the first game of the year at the NAHL Showcase in Blaine, but sustained a leg injury and did not play again until the event in December.
In the 11 regular season games played, Nolette had 11 points. He also recorded three points in four playoff games for the Miners, who finished 7th during the regular season.
In his four-year NAPHL career, which included this past season and the 2014-15 season with the 18U team and the 2013-14 and 2012-13 seasons with the 16U team, Nolette has played in 76 career games with 43 points.
He is the fifth player from the 2015-16 Pikes Peak Miners 18U team to sign an NAHL tender so far this season.
A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NAPHL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft, which will be held in June of 2016.
