Omaha 18U duo of Wishman and Ashbrook sign NAHL tenders

December 11, 2015
The Omaha AAA Hockey Club, proud members of the NAPHL, are pleased to announce that two more players from the 18U team have signed NAHL tender agreements.

Defenseman Jordan Wishman has signed an NAHL tender agreement with the Lone Star Brahmas of the NAHL’s South Division and Omaha forward Tristan Ashbrook has signed an NAHL tender with the Bismarck Bobcats of the NAHL’s Central Division.

Wishman, 17, is in his first season with the Omaha 18U team and second season with the Omaha organization overall. The native of Des Moines, Iowa, ranks 2nd on the Omaha 18U team in scoring for defensemen with 12 points (4 goals, 8 assists) so far this season.

Wishman (6’1/184) played last season for the Omaha 16U team that won the NAPHL 16U title and advanced to play at the USA Hockey Tier I 16U National Championships. His best event so far of the 2015-16 campaign was back in October in Blaine when he had six points in five games played.

Ashbrook, 17, is in his second season playing for the Omaha 18U team and second overall with the program. The native of Manistique, Michigan, leads the 18U team in scoring through four events this season with 24 points (11 goals, 13 assists) in 20 games played. His 24 points ranks him tied for 5th in NAPHL 18U scoring.

Last season, Ashbrook (5’10/175) played for both the Omaha 18U and 16U teams. In 19 games with the 18U club in NAPHL and HPHL action, he recorded 10 points and in 10 NAPHL games with the 16U team, he had five points.

Ashbrook also played USA Hockey Select-17 festival over the summer.

Wishman and Ashbrook are the 6th and 7th players respectively from the Omaha 18U team who have signed NAHL tenders so far this season.

A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NAPHL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft, which will be held in June of 2016.
