Omaha 18U forward Polglaze signs NAHL tender

November 5, 2015
The Omaha AAA Hockey Club, proud members of the NAPHL, are pleased to announce that 18U forward TJ Polglaze has signed an NAHL tender agreement with the Janesville Jets.  This marks the first NAHL tender signed by an NAPHL player during the 2015-16 season.

Polglaze, 18, is currently in his 3rd year with the Omaha AAA organization and 2nd season with the 18U team. The native of Beloit, Wisconsin, began the season playing in the NAHL for the Minnesota Wilderness. He also played in four games with the Wilderness as an affiliate player during the 2014-15 season.

Polglaze joined the 18U team for the second event in Blaine, where he had five points in five games as Omaha posted a perfect 5-0 record at the event.

Last season, Polglaze recorded 19 points in 24 games and played in both the NAPHL 18U All-Star Game and the NAPHL Top Prospects Tournament. He was also named to the NAPHL All-Academic Team.

During the 2013-14 season, Polglaze played on the Omaha 16U team, recording 30 points in 20 games played. Overall in his NAPHL career, Polglaze (6’0/176) has played in 49 career games and recorded 54 career points.

“TJ is a warrior as a hockey player and a great person off the ice. He could easily be playing in the NAHL this season, but because of circumstance, he is not. He will be a very good junior player in the future and we are extremely happy that he is with us in Omaha again this season,” said Omaha head coach David Wilkie.

A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NAPHL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft, which will be held in June of 2016.
