LANSING CAPITALS: The Capitals’ U18 team eliminated the Marquette Electricians in the best-of-three state playdowns, 2 games to 1. A No. 6 seed, the U18’s will compete in the state tournament, which will be played from March 10-14… The Capitals’ U16 team was eliminated in the state playdowns by the Detroit Falcons, 2 games to 0.
OMAHA AAA HOCKEY CLUB: Omaha AAA Hockey Club’s U18 team will square of against Russell Stover (Tier I Elite League) in the USA Hockey Midwest Regional Championship series - a best-of-three series - on March 6-7 in Overland Park, Kan. The Midwest Region encompasses the states of Iowa, Nebraska and Kansas.
The winner of regionals will advance to the USA Hockey Central District Championships in Fond du Lac, Wis., from March 19-21 to play the regional winners from Illinois (Team Illinois - Tier I Elite League), Missouri (St. Louis AAA Blues - Tier I Elite League) and Wisconsin (playoffs will be held March 12-14).
The winner of the Central District Championship will advance to the USA Hockey National Championships in Chicago.
PIKES PEAK MINERS: The Miners’ U16 team fell to the Colorado Thunderbirds in the Colorado state championship game, 3-0. The Miners have advanced to Rocky Mountain District Championships.
SAN JOSE JR SHARKS: The San Jose Jr. Sharks program is hosting Pacific Districts.
SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA TITANS: The Titans’ U18 team will compete in the California state championships from March 5-7.
