New Jersey 18U dman Berzolla makes NCAA DI commitment

December 3, 2014
The New Jersey Jr. Titans of the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) are proud to announce that 18U defenseman, Zach Berzolla, has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey at Colorado College.

Even though Zach is the youngest player on the 18U team as a 16-year-old, he has been a standout with his consistent solid play. Although Zach didn’t always play on the best team growing up or the team with a great record, he earned a spot on the Colorado College Ice Hockey team with his determination and work ethic.

Former Titan and current Sioux City Musketeer, Ryan Walker, who played with Zach Berzolla for 5 years had this to say, “I can remember playing mites through peewees with Zach. Our dream was always to commit to play Division 1, I’m very happy for Zach and wish him the best of luck at Colorado.” Goes to show you that hard work and practice will pay off.

Zach visited Colorado College on November 21, 2014 and fell in love. He said, “When I first arrived on campus, I was blown away with not only the facilities but the location of the campus. The view of the mountains and everything surrounding the campus was amazing. Coach Mike Haviland made me feel at home and after he told me his plans for the future, I knew that Colorado College was the place for me.”

Owner and Coach George Haviland had this to say about Zach, “We are all very excited for Zach and his commitment to Colorado. Zach is a big defensemen with a lot of strength and mobility. He is a very good puck moving defensemen and has been a big part of our success on the power play this year. Because Zach is going to an extension of our family I know that Zach will be taken care of at Colorado and continue to grow as a player!” Located in Colorado Springs, Colorado College is one of most well known schools for academics. It also features an on campus arena that seats 8,000.

Lastly, Zach Berzolla had this to say, “I want to thank Coach Haviland, Coach Walker, and the rest of the Titans staff for helping me develop on and off the ice. I also want to thank my parents for always supporting and believing in me, I couldn’t have done this without them.”
