NAPHL announces 16U All-Star Game rosters

The North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) is pleased to announce the rosters for the second annual NAPHL 16U All-Star Game. The 2014 NAPHL 16U All-Star Game is scheduled for Sunday, December 7th at 7:15pm at the Schwan Super Rink in Blaine, Minnesota.
The 16U All-Star Game is a part of the NAPHL’s fourth regular season event of the season, which will feature all 32 NAPHL teams, each playing in five regular season games from December 5-8 at the Schwan Super Rink in Blaine, MN. The event will be played in cooperation with the NA3HL Showcase, which will feature all 31 NA3HL teams playing in three regular season games. The event will also see the debut of the Bantam Tournament Series (BTS), as well as, the Girls Tournament Series (GTS).
The NAPHL is also pleased to announce that two head coaches from the NAHL will be behind the benches for the 16U All-Star Game. Coaching Team Blue will be Geoff Beauparlant, head coach of the NAHL’s Kenai River Brown Bears. Coaching Team White will be AJ Degenhardt, head coach of the NAHL’s Coulee Region Chill.
The number of players represented by each NAPHL 16U team was based on each team’s winning percentage in the NAPHL 16U standings as of October 21st. The breakdown was as follows… 4 players: Omaha, Anaheim. 3 players: Arizona, Pursuit of Excellence, Lansing, Esmark, St. Louis and Madison. 2 players: San Jose, New Jersey, Everett, HC Dallas, California, Pikes Peak and West Michigan.
Players that were considered for the 16U All-Star Game selection process were nominated by each of the NAPHL 16U head coaches in the league. The NAPHL staff then selected the teams, with additional input and consultation from Coordinator of Player Personnel Craig Barnett and the NAPHL Event Scouting System.
“We had an overwhelming and positive response from last year’s inaugural All-Star Game from everyone involved, which made the decision to continue it this season an easy one,” said NAHL and NAPHL Commissioner Mark Frankenfeld. “The game will showcase some of the best 16 and under hockey talent in the Nation and we continue to maintain our commitment to our teams that each club has fair representation at the event based upon their performance to date.”
All games at the event in Blaine, including the NAPHL 16U All-Star Game, will be broadcast live over the Internet through FASTHockey.
Like it has the past three NAPHL events, the NAHL Event Scouting System will continue in Blaine. The Event Scouting System is lead by Craig Barnett, Coordinator of Player of Personnel for both the NA3HL and NAPHL. Barnett’s primary role is to coordinate the scouting at all NA3HL and NAPHL events, and to promote player advancement and to supply information to NAHL, NCAA and other junior and collegiate coaches.
