Matt Hughes named head coach for POE 18U team

Pursuit of Excellence Hockey Academy is pleased to announce the hiring of Matt Hughes as Head Coach of the U18 Midget Prep Team. Matt will be assuming the coach and manager responsibilities for the Midget U18 Prep team. Matt will also be responsible to help develop and grow the Midget program.

Matt’s passion for helping and developing young players fits the Pursuit Academy model of building the 360 degree player.”

 

Matt Hughes brings an extensive background as a Coach and General Manager at the Junior level. He was Head Coach of Grande Prairie Storm AJHL 2013-2014; Assistant Coach Grand Prairie Storm AJHL 2012-2014; Associate Coach and Assistant GM Dawson Creek Rage, NAHL 2010-2012; Head Coach and Assistant GM Salmon Arm Silverbacks 2009- 2010; Associate Coach and Assistant General Manager Salmon Arm Silverbacks  2007-2009; Assistant Coach and Video Coach Team Pacific 2008-2009.

 

The Pursuit of Excellence would also like to thank previous coach Ryan Wade for his contributions over the past 3 years and wish him and his family all the best in their future endeavours.

 

The Pursuit of Excellence is Hockey Academy dedicated to the individual growth and development of each student athlete. The goal of The Pursuit of Excellence Hockey Academy is to develop and graduate the 360 degree player who excels both on and off the ice. The POE has had 50 players drafted in the annual WHL Bantam draft and over 300 graduates who have played Junior, WHL, NCAA ,CIS or professional Hockey in the NHL, AHL or European Leagues.
