NAPHL releases 2014-15 event locations and dates

April 28, 2014
The North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) has announced the event locations and dates for the 2014-15 season, including the first event of the season at the 12th annual NAHL Showcase, which will be held from September 18-21 at the Schwan Super Rink in Blaine, Minnesota.

The NAPHL, which will be celebrating its sixth anniversary season in 2014-15, is composed of Midget Major (18U) and Midget Minor (16U) teams from across North America that compete at the USA Hockey Tier I level.  The success of teams on the National stage, as well as, the success of NAPHL players at the next levels of hockey, is further proof that the NAPHL is redefining exposure and has elevated itself to one of the premier training grounds for development and opportunity.

“Year in and year out, the league continues to see a rise in the standard of play because of the unique event schedule, balanced competition, event scouting system and quality coaching,” said NAHL Commissioner Mark Frankenfeld. “We have another great year of events lined up for the 2014-15 season that continues to celebrate our players and grow the exposure that has been a trademark of the NAPHL since day one.”

Each NAPHL 18U team will play 24 regular season games and each NAPHL 16U team will play 20 regular season games during the 2014-15 season. The six events that compose the NAPHL regular season schedule are spread amongst four locations. The Schwan Super Rink in Blaine, MN and the Troy Sports Center in Troy, MI will each host two events, while the Canlan Ice Sports in Romeoville, Illinois and Moylan IcePlex in Omaha, Nebraska will host the others.
